We were visited by a female Bullock’s Oriole Icterus bullockii this evening, and the last. She came to the feeder for the grape jelly. I guess her kids eat like mine. What a treat to see her.

Cool. I’m surprised that she’s got that much orange on her. I figured Orioles would be like so many other birds where the female is just so boring looking compared to the males, but this one is quite pretty! And, who would have thought they’d like grape jelly? 🙂
You know, the males are much brighter. The orioles here are more subdued than the eastern variety anyway, but she is still a fine looking bird.
