The previous dryer only achieved a peak temperature of about 47C, which is much lower than the recommended 80C from 3devo. I made two upgrades:
- Wrapped the bucket in a moving blanket for insulation, and then because I was concerned about overheating,
- Connected a PID controller.
I did not seriously try to run this at 80C, but with set points of 45, 50, and 55 it does a reasonable job of holding steady overnight. Based on the curvature of the rise to the 55C set point I would speculate this could achieve a temperature of almost 70C, and will consider attempting that if long drying at 55 proves insufficient.
